Another way to relax during Christmas holidays!

Thanks to our donors, since 2015 we have organized training for the teachers in all of our middle schools. In December 2018, the capital of Banimonotié, Bougouni, witnessed this theater, which was a chance for our teachers to refresh their knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching. Animated by a gift of perpetual quest for knowledge, 41 Mali Rising teachers left their families and leisure time to come and acquire the needed tools to improve the futures of their students.

Last week, more than 40 Mali Rising teachers came together for 5 days of training and sharing ideas. This is all thanks to our generous supporters, who understand that a school is only as good as its teachers. Thanks to our donors, each Mali Rising school now has two teachers with more skills to share with their students!

Mothers' Loan Fund Means Sustainable Girls' Education

Mali Rising Foundation is trying something new to make sure our Girls Project is sustainable — micro-finance loans through our Mothers’ Loan Fund. With this new micro-finance project, more than 30 mothers in our three pilot villages will benefit from credit to finance their small businesses.

Bidding for Good at the Soiree!

I know I’ve done it and I bet you have too -- got carried away at a charity auction and come home with a strange carving we can't fit anywhere in our house. We shrug and tell ourselves the funds went to a good cause. So why not just directly decide where those funds will go and spare yourself donating the dusty trinket to the thrift store two years later? That's the concept behind the Auction for Action at Mali Rising's Soiree this Thursday.

Textbooks = A Dancing, Singing, Village-Wide Celebration

Wow. I get excited about a new book, but the village of Beneko REALLY gets excited. I mean – they literally throw a party!  Thanks to the generosity of Mike and Bonnie King and dozens of their friends, last week we delivered more than 1,000 textbooks to our middle school in the remote village of Beneko. Thanks to dozens of teacher sponsors at the 2017 Soiree and some generous foundation support, Mali Rising's teachers are getting better all the time. And you know what that means? It means our STUDENTS are getting better all the time. And we can measure that improvement...

First Inspiration Scholar Nursing Assistants Graduate!

We are so proud -- and we hope you're proud too.Thanks to Mali Rising's donors six of our first batch of Inspiration Scholars have just graduated from their nursing assistant/midwife program. These six nurses are now out in villages, ready to help their communities and Mali be healthier and happier.
